Sharon arrived in Bremen from Kenya on 30 August 2025 and will stay until mid-November 2025. She works as a German teacher in Kenya. In Bremen, she is assisting with several workshops, projects and learning offices at the GSM. She has developed an exhibition concept for a democracy exhibition for the UNESCO ASPnet schools of Bremen and will supervise this exhibition while she is still in Bremen. Among other things, the exhibition will be on display at the Night of Youth in Bremen Town Hall.

Chilloh, our 3rd. Federal Volunteer

Mohamed Mwinyi Mwalamba, known as Chilloh, was actually supposed to start his federal voluntary service with us in August 2020. Now we are glad that he was able to come to Germany in mid-May ’21 despite Corona to work, laugh and celebrate with us.

Chilloh is an alumni of the first out of the box meeting round 2013/14 , took part in the summer encounter 2017/18 and supported the encounters in Easter 2017 and in Summer 2019 as a team leader.

Richard will be our first official volunteer

We have been working for some time to enable young people from our partner organisations in the Global South to undertake voluntary service with us. In AFS, we have found a fantastic organisation to support us in this endeavour.

From July 2018, Richard from our partner MYFF in Nairobi will be starting his Federal Voluntary Service with us. We are absolutely delighted that this has come to fruition. Take a look at his introduction video…
